Have you ever dreamed of taking a writing class where you were at the helm of the ship? We will brew up a writing experience designed - by you - to hook your audience. So bring all of your unpublished pieces to this space. Every day we will find a "writing focus" from "the untrue" to a haiku to the five senses, bringing us right to that very moment when you Saw-Tasted-Smelled-Felt-and-Heard it! What if we started with the illustration? How are you visualizing your story in your imagination? Let's start with the picture and then build in the words. This is an inclusive experience--students will be heavily involved in the planning. All aboard…to destinations to be determined by YOU!

Pair With a PM Program:
Sidwell Summer has a number of afternoon options that can be paired with the morning program Ready, Set, Write! to create a full day of camp fun for your child! Campers participating in AM Ready, Set, Write! and then a different PM program will eat lunch with the former and then be escorted, by staff, to the latter: the afternoon option you select.

Beginner Chess – Grades K-5; available weeks of 6/17 and 6/24.
Handwork Day Camp – Grades K-6; available all weeks.
Intermediate Fencing – Grades 2-5; available weeks of 6/17, 6/24, and 8/5.
LEGO® Engineering – Grades 3-5; available all weeks.
Multicultural Art – Grades 3-5; available week of 6/24.
Sci-Fi Fun – Grades 2-5; available week of 6/24 and 8/5.
Sweets, Treats, and Eats – Grades K-6; available all weeks.
Theater – Grades K-4; available all weeks.
