Adding PM Programs
Sidwell Summer has a number of afternoon options that can be paired with morning Soccer to create a full day of camp fun for your child! If participating in AM Soccer and then a different PM program, campers will eat lunch and be escorted by staff to the afternoon option.
PM options are listed below:
Beginner Chess – (Grades K-5) Available Weeks 1 & 2. Let curious minds meet the challenging world of the chess board through stories, puzzles, arts, and games, to excite and delight future grandmasters. Students will learn all about the chess pieces and chess board at a gentle pace, adding details bit by bit as they accumulate all the knowledge necessary to play a full game of chess. Soccer + Chess = $575.
Creative Writing – (Grades 1-5) Available Weeks 7 & 8. Designed to reach elementary school writers of all enthusiasm and ability levels, this summer program will allow each camper to create a portfolio of pieces that range from silly to thoughtful to imaginative. We focus on having fun while boosting writing skills in a warm, nurturing, and exciting environment. Soccer + Creative Writing = $545.
LEGO® Engineering – (Grades 2-5) Available Weeks 1 & 8. Campers can enroll in our PM LEGO® program, led by instructors from Play-Well TEKnologies. While campers build elaborate objects, structures, and vehicles, they will explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics. Soccer + LEGO®= $620.
Handwork Day Camp – (Grades K-6) Available all weeks. The Handwork Day Camp option includes fun sewing, knitting, and crafting projects led by the experienced staff of The Handwork Studio. New projects will be introduced each week! Soccer + Handwork = $575.
Splash More – (Grades 2-5) Available all weeks. After lunch, campers will take a Sidwell bus to the Bethesda pool for free swim. There is no formal swimming instruction offered; therefore, campers should be comfortable in the water. Soccer + Splash More = $475.
Sweets, Treats, and Eats - (Grades K-6) Available Weeks 3-8. Explore the sweet world of candy making, cupcake decorating, cake pops and cookies! Kids will dip, frost, bake, and decorate. We'll end the week helping campers to sew (on a sewing machine) their own "goodie bag" in which to take their creations home. Soccer + Sweets, Treats, and Eats = $585.
Theater – (Grades K-3) Available all weeks. Led by instructors from Imagination Stage, this afternoon program will feature different weekly themes such as Fairytale Adventures and Kids in Space. Imagination Stage “fosters a creative environment for children to develop their skills in, and understanding of, the theatre arts in a fun and stimulating way." Soccer + Theater = $545.
Note: After selecting AM Soccer during registration, you will then be directed to choose from the above PM Camp options, or to "Opt Out" and dismiss at 12:00pm.
Sample Daily Schedule
All campers participating in Sidwell Summer’s soccer program will engage in a variety of skills, drills, small-sided games, and full field competitions throughout the week. The schedule varies each day for each age group, but two things are for certain: campers will work hard and have fun!
