Frame by Frame: Stop Motion Camp (Grades 2-5)
Returning for summer 2026!
Unleash your child's creativity at our Frame by Frame: Stop Motion Animation Camp! Designed for curious and imaginative 2nd to 5th graders, this hands-on camp introduces the magic of stop motion storytelling. Campers will explore the basics of animation, storyboard creation, and set design as they bring their ideas to life, frame by frame.
Led by Sidwell Friend’s Lower School Director of Academic Technology and Librarian, this week-long, morning only camp, enables campers to create their own animated short films using clay, paper, and everyday objects. They’ll develop teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills while having a blast turning their wildest imaginations into reality.
By the end of the week, your young animator will premiere their very own masterpiece to share with family and friends! This camp is perfect for budding storytellers and aspiring filmmakers.

Nature Explorers (Grades K–3)
New for Summer 2026!
In Nature Explorers, young campers are invited to slow down, look closely, and discover the magic of the world around them. Designed for curious Kindergarten through 3rd graders, this hands-on camp blends outdoor exploration, creative play, and early science learning in a joyful Sidwell Summer setting.
Throughout the week, campers will explore plants, animals, and natural habitats through guided nature walks, scavenger hunts, sensory activities, and nature-inspired art projects. With plenty of time for movement, collaboration, and wonder, children are encouraged to ask questions, make observations, and build a meaningful connection to the environment.
Led by Sidwell Friends Lower School Exploratorium Teacher, Nature Explorers emphasizes curiosity, community, and confidence as campers learn through play and shared discovery. This camp is perfect for young learners who love the outdoors and are eager to explore, create, and grow alongside friends.
Northern Sports (Grades K–2)
New for Summer 2026!
Introduce your child to two exciting team sports with Northern Sports, a playful and skill-building camp inspired by Canada’s favorite games. Designed for our younger campers, this camp focuses on learning the fundamentals of (floor) hockey and lacrosse in a fun, age-appropriate Sidwell Summer setting.
Throughout the week, campers will practice basic stick skills, movement, coordination, and teamwork through engaging drills and games. With an emphasis on sportsmanship, cooperation, and confidence, children are encouraged to try new skills, stay active, and have fun alongside friends.
Led by Sidwell Friends Upper School Teacher (and Canadian!), Northern Sports creates a welcoming and supportive environment where young athletes can explore new sports, build foundational skills, and develop a love for movement and play — no prior experience needed.
Highlights:

Focus on teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship
A fun, active, and encouraging camp environment
