Boys & Girls Lacrosse Camps (Grades 2-8)
1 week sessions 9:00am–12:00pm $360-$425
Boys Lacrosse Camp:
The Sidwell Summer Boys Lacrosse Camp is designed to help players take their game to the next level. Instruction will include techniques of throwing, catching, shooting, dodging, ground balls and defensive skills for all players. We are committed to providing the best possible instruction/ experience to each individual, in all phases of the game. The camp is open to players of all prior lacrosse experience from beginner to advanced.
Boys camp will be led by Sidwell Friends Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach Chris Cummings, who will be assisted by Sidwell Friends Coach Zack Barrett. Player to coach ratios will be low, so come ready for lots of repetitions and good instruction!
Boys Equipment Needed: Each player must bring their own lacrosse equipment. Equipment includes helmet, gloves, shoulder pads (EKG certified), elbow pads, lacrosse stick, cleats, and indoor shoes (inclement weather days). Please make sure camper’s names are on all items.
Girls Lacrosse Camp:
The Sidwell Summer Girls Lacrosse Skills Camp is designed to help players take their game to the next level. Instruction will include techniques of cradling, catching, throwing, ground balls, draw controls, dodging and shooting, and goalie instruction, for those players who seek it. We are committed to providing the best possible instruction/experience to everyone, in all phases of the game. The camp is intended for individuals with prior experience playing girls lacrosse.
The camp will be led by Sidwell Friends Varsity Assistant Lacrosse Coach Stephanie Heffron, who will be assisted by current and former Sidwell Friends high school players. Player to coach ratios will be low, so come ready for lots of repetitions and good instruction!
Girls Equipment Needed: Each player is required to bring the following lacrosse equipment - a mouthguard, goggles, girls lacrosse stick, sneakers, and cleats. Sticks and goalie gear will be available if needed, however players are expected to bring their own, along with any other equipment they feel necessary. Please make sure campers’ names are on all of their belongings.
Girls Beginner Camp: This camp is designed for campers in rising grade 2-4 and for any true beginner to girls' lacrosse. Beginners will learn to cradle, scoop, catch and throw through various drills and activities that keep campers engaged and excited about lacrosse. *We will have lacrosse sticks and goggles available for campers. Each camper must bring their own mouthguard and full water bottle.
The Sidwell Friends Boys + Girls Lacrosse Camps will be conducted on Sidwell Friends outdoor turf fields. In the event of inclement weather an indoor gym will be used.
